Brad Pitt involved in motorcycle accident

Report: Brad Pitt Safe After Motorcycle Accident

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Brad Pitt is safe after a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, TMZ reported.

According to the Web site, Brad lost control of his vehicle and fell at an intersection on Saturday. He reportedly got off the road, went into an apartment building and was later picked up, leaving his motorcycle on the scene.

The star was photographed earlier on Saturday morning riding in Beverly Hills. He received a new motorcycle earlier this week at his Los Feliz home, however, the new bike, with what appeared to be gold-plated handlebars and rims in earlier shots, did not appear to be the vehicle in question in Saturday's photos.

The "Inglourious Basterds" actor is frequently spotted around LA on one of his several motorcycles.

Photo agency X17 was the first to report the news of the accident.

The LAPD had no knowledge of a crash when reached by Access Hollywood on Saturday.

Why did Madonna get sued by NYC neighbour?

NYC neighbour sues Madonna over loud music, hours of dancing in posh Manhattan apartment

By The Associated Press

NEW YORK - One of Madonna's New York neighbours says the superstar's loud music and frequent dance sessions are causing a commotion.

Karen George, of Manhattan, lives above Madonna in a building on Central Park.

She said in a lawsuit filed Friday against the building's co-op board that the Material Girl is using her apartment as a rehearsal studio, forcing neighbours to endure "blaring music, stomping and shaking walls," for up to three hours each day.

George complained about "unreasonably high-decibel, amplified music" and vibrations pouring through walls, ceilings and radiators.

The building's board says it has already threatened to evict Madonna.

Madonna's representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Former flight attendant sues Oprah over sex claim

By Matthew Belloni

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Oprah Winfrey has had pretty good luck in litigation during her career.

Back in 1998 she won a Texas defamation case brought by cattlemen who weren't thrilled when she said she'd sworn off burgers on a show about mad cow disease. This year she beat back a trillion-dollar lawsuit by a poet who claimed copyright infringement, and she recently filed an aggressive suit against marketers who claimed she put her stamp of approval on dietary supplements.

Now, a former flight attendant on Winfrey's private jet says she was fired after being accused of having sex during a flight in June, and she's filed a federal lawsuit against Winfrey's production company denying the allegations.

Corrine Gehrls alleges that flight attendant Myron Gooch and Winfrey's goddaughter, Kirby Bumpus, made false and defamatory accusations that led to her dismissal.

Gehrls and chief pilot Terry Pansing were fired a short time after the allegations were made, according to the suit, even though they passed polygraph tests about the incident.

The complaint also tosses in the claim that Winfrey and Bumpus were asleep during the June flight after taking sleeping pills.

Neither Oprah nor her Harpo production company is commenting on the suit. The complaint seeks more than $75,000 in damages from Harpo, Gooch, Bumpus.

Dating Tips: 9 Signs a Guy Is a Keeper

Think you've found The One? We asked relationship experts to help singles spot the clues that indicate serious boyfriend (and beyond) potential. Here's what to look for when separating the princes from the toads.

#1. Keeper clue: He has his act together.

This seems like a no-brainer, but it's a good place to start. "It's very important that you two be able to have a lot of fun together, so a party boy or a screw-up will probably not work out for you," says Mira Kirshenbaum, a family and couples therapist and author of Is He Mr. Right? "No matter how charming he is, if he is still struggling to grow up, it will get very old, very fast."

#2. Keeper clue: He puts you first.

Picture a delicious platter of grilled steak. Does your man offer it to you first to pick the best piece? He does if he's a keeper! "When it comes to taking the best piece of meat or offering it to you, that's a metaphor for how he'd always put you first the rest of your life," says Rachel Greenwald, author of "Why He Didn't Call You Back: 1,000 Guys Reveal What They Really Thought of You After Your Date."

#3. Keeper clue: He's not afraid of your germs.

You know a guy is really into you when he can't stay away, even when you're bedridden and snotty. "When you're sick with the flu, he says, 'Let me come over and take care of you,' rather than, 'Oooh, you sound really contagious... call me when you're feeling better,'" Greenwald says.

#4. Keeper clue: He's a family man.

He asks about your family, and he seems to genuinely want to hear about them. "Interest in your family shows that he thinks about you as a whole person, and he knows that being with you means understanding and accepting your relatives too," says Sarah Harrison, senior editor of yourtango.com.

#5. Keeper clue: He makes time for your friends.

In the beginning of your relationship, does your man show an interest in meeting your besties? And does he follow it up with a plan, like hosting a low-key dinner party? "Friends are an important part of your life, and his knowing them makes him more involved with you." Harrison says. "Plus, he'll have to deal with them at some point, so initiating it himself shows maturity."

#6. Keeper clue: He's your biggest cheerleader.

And she even has a poem:
When your guy calls your mom to tell her about your promotion before you do, that should tell you something. A man who is supportive of you and your goals is typically a guy who doesn't "feel threatened by your success," says Kirshenbaum. "He knows who he is and where he's going," which means he can ultimately be there for you.

#7. Keeper clue: He remembers the little things.

Does your man really listen to you? You'll know he's a keeper if you tell him you have a big scary work meeting and the next time you talk, he asks how it went. Or if you tell him you left your sunglasses at his house and he remembers them on your next date. "Following up on things you say to him means he pays attention to you -- always a good sign," Harrison says.

#8. Keeper clue: He's happy when you're happy.

This is the guy who "goes to a chick flick with you on Friday night rather than an action film -- not because he actually wants to, but because it makes you happy," says Greenwald.

#9. Keeper clue: He makes you the best you can be.

A guy who makes you feel like the luckiest woman alive -- like you can (and should!) be your confident, fabulous self -- is worth hanging on to. "It's not just about how you feel about him but more about how he makes you feel about yourself," Kirshenbaum says.

Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley split after three years of marriage

By The Canadian Press

TORONTO - Avril Lavigne says she has split from husband Deryck Whibley after three years of marriage.

Lavigne, who grew up in Napanee, Ont., announced the separation in a blog posting on her MySpace page on Thursday after a published report in Us Weekly broke the news.

"Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note," wrote Lavigne, 24. "Thank you to all my family, friends and fans for all your support."

Lavigne and Whibley, the frontman for Canadian pop-punk group Sum 41, began dating in 2004 before getting engaged during a trip to Venice, Italy in 2005. They married on July 15, 2006 in Montecito, Calif., when Lavigne was 21 and Whibley was 25.

In her short blog entry, Lavigne wrote about the time they spent together.

"Deryck and I have been together for six-and-a-half years," she wrote. "We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. "

"I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart."

Whibley's representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

World's new tallest man is looking for love

World's new tallest man has giant longing for love

LONDON (AFP) - The world's new tallest man, measuring two metres 46.5 centimetres, said he was looking for love as he was presented by Guinness World Records in London on Wednesday.

Sultan Kosen, 26, blotted out the iconic Tower Bridge as he posed for photographs on the banks of the River Thames in his first ever trip outside his native Turkey.

He takes over the title from China's Bao Xishun, who stands 'just' 2.36 metres.

The Turk also has the world's largest hands and largest feet, measuring 27.5 centimetres and 36.5 centimetres respectively.

And his giant hands dwarfed those proffered by amazed wellwishers as he turned heads in London, while reporters strained to get their microphones within reach of his head.

Kosen's record was unveiled to mark the launch of the Guinness World Records 2010 edition. The book, now in its 55th year, includes the world's biggest burger, made in the United States and weighing 185 pounds (84 kilograms), and records for the dog with the longest ears and the world's biggest skateboard.

Kosen was unable to complete his schooling because of his extreme height, but works occasionally as a farmer to support his family.

He said he hoped his newfound celebrity status would enable him "to travel and see the world and have a car that accommodates my size."

"My biggest dream though, is to get married and have children -- I'm looking for love," he said.

The extreme difficulty of squeezing into a regular-sized car is one of the main disadvantages of his height, but he says it comes in handy for replacing light bulbs and hanging curtains for his mother.

Kosen has three brothers and a sister, who are all normal-sized, but his rate of growth surged from the age of 10 because of a tumour which caused too much growth hormone to be released from his pituitary gland.

The tumour was successfully removed in surgery and he finally stopped growing last year. He uses walking sticks and tires quickly if he is standing.

Another pretender to the tallest title, Ukrainian Leonid Stadnyk, who claims to be 10.5 centimetres taller than Kosen, fails to qualify for the record because he refused to be measured by Guinness World Records officials.

Guinness editor-in-chief Craig Glenday travelled to Turkey to personally validate Kosen's height under strict guidelines, measuring him three times in one day because bodies expand and shrink throughout the day.

Glenday said: "Sultan's an imposing figure, but a gentle, quiet man who's totally relaxed and unfazed about his unique standing in the world."

Patrick Swayze dies at 57

Film star Patrick Swayze dead at 57

By Dan Whitcomb

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor Patrick Swayze, who went from Broadway dancer to Hollywood star in box-office hits like "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost," died on Monday, U.S. media reports said. He was 57.

Swayze, whose spokesman announced in March 2008 that the actor had pancreatic cancer, died at home with his family at his side, ABC News reported, citing his spokeswoman Annett Wolf.

The Texas native began his career as a dancer and made dozens of stage, film and TV appearances over four decades. Pop culture immortality came with 1987's "Dirty Dancing," which defied Hollywood expectations to become one of the most-watched movies of all time.

Swayze played the swaggering Castle in the film opposite Jennifer Grey's sheltered teenager, Frances "Baby" Houseman, who becomes smitten with Castle while on vacation at a New York resort during the 1960s.

An unlikely romance builds between the pair as Castle trains the gawky teen to stand in for his partner at a dance-off in the film's climactic scene and confronts her father with the often-quoted line from the film: "Nobody puts Baby in the corner."

"Dirty Dancing," which was made for a modest budget and almost scrapped by its studio, became a massive box-office hit, earning Golden Globe nominations for both stars and spawning the Oscar-winning hit single "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."
